Alan Ruddock Sensei

From an early age, Alan Ruddock sensei practiced Judo and jiujutsu.
In the early sixties he started his Karate training in England with, among others, Murakami sensei, and opened the first Shotokan Karate dojo in Ireland several years later.
In 1964 Alan arrived in Japan, where he studied at the Aikikai Hombu Dojo under the guidance of the founder of Aikido, Ueshiba Morihei O Sensei. In addition he practiced Aikido with Yamaguchi Seigo sensei, Osawa Kisaburo sensei, Saotome Mitsugi sensei and Nishio Shoji sensei.
Back in Europe Alan trained with, among others, Nakazone Mutsuro sensei.

In 1975 he founded an Aikido dojo on the Isle of Man, where he still teaches, as well as giving many Aikido courses in Ireland (sometimes together with Henry Kono sensei from Canada, also a student of Ueshiba Morihei O Sensei). Alan Ruddock sensei is technical director of the Irish Aikido Federation.
